Another week, another Careers Fair! Yesterday we attended the careers fair hosted by Alton College in Hampshire. The event was a great success and we had many students come to visit our stand, eager to find out more about what we do and what we can offer them as they take their next career step. It was good to see that students are thinking about the many options which are available to them after they have finished their studies. Especially those who are keen to get in to Engineering. Don't forget to keep an eye out in September when our placement schemes will be open for applicants and in December for our apprenticeship scheme! For all our vacancies please go to our Careers Page- http://www.xtrac.com/workforus/

On Tuesday our team at Xtrac attended the Careers Fair at Bradfield College; designed to help students from around the local community from year 10 through to year 13 decide what their next steps will be. It was great to see the enthusiasm from all who visited- they were eager to see what was available to them. The careers fair allowed us to showcase our excellent Apprenticeship Scheme and Placement opportunities. Our well established Apprenticeship scheme gained lots of interest as students are now aware there is more than one route to get to where they want to be with their career! Each year we take on a new group of apprentices who make a huge impact on our business, the apprenticeship involves getting to have a full tour of factory where you can learn about all the process we undertake in order to make our renowned transmissions. This year we have successfully recruited 5 new apprentices who will be starting in September and next year we will be looking for more! Our Apprenticeship scheme will open for the 2019 intake two weeks before Christmas and if you would like to work for a world class transmission system where you can learn, develop and really make a different then please head to our website. We offer placement opportunities for university students looking for that real life experience. The roles vary from Design Engineers placements to our Operations placement allowing students to see the full spectrum of our business. Whilst undertaking your placement you will get to work on real business projects and you will be able to make an impact on what we do! We value the opinions of our placement students and are keen to listen to what they have to say. We will be having 6 new placement students joining us in August ready to begin their adventure with us and we won’t be stopping there. We will be looking for our 2019/2020 intake in September 2018. For all our vacancies please go to our Careers Page- http://www.xtrac.com/workforus/

Building for the Future Innovative motorsport and high performance automotive transmission technologies are advancing at an exceptional rate and demand increasingly efficient and compact novel designs to match the requirements of the electric and hybrid cars of the future in Motorsport and for the road. As a world leader in innovative transmission technologies, Xtrac is driving ahead with a significant investment in a large additional factory on our Thatcham HQ site, increasing the size from 88,000 sq ft to 115,000 sq ft in which to house a state of the art manufacturing facility with new machines & new manufacturing technologies and most importantly recruiting additional personnel to take the company forward and into the future. Due for completion in September 2018 this significant increase in capability and capacity will enable Xtrac to provide an even better service to its many Motorsport customers around the world, as well as enabling an increase in the number of high performance automotive transmissions, assembled each year for the EV and hybrid vehicle sector. Investing in apprentices, trainees, undergraduates and the personal development of our existing employees is paramount to the successful growth of the company and the fruits of our award winning training programmes can be seen in many of our highly skilled engineers, machinists, commercial staff and administration personnel. Our first year apprentices and under-graduate trainees recently broke ground on the new building and construction has been progressing at pace since. The building has been designed by award winning architects @Ridgellp with SDC appointed as the prime contractor.
