Legends of the Forest are all over this week’s Waltham Forest News! Here’s why total legends David and Martyn have signed up to volunteer: “We think this is an opportunity for the borough to invest in some big, diverse cultural events, and that’s one of the reasons we’re here. The fact that it’s happening in our own borough, and it’s the first ever Borough of Culture, is amazing. If we can make sure we represent the borough, it will be great.” Want to join them? Follow the link in our bio. Anyone aged 16 or older can sign up now and help make 2019 unforgettable.

Big news! Renowned for his landmark 1999 album OK, Leytonstone-born Talvin Singh will be launching Waltham Forest's year as London Borough of Culture, collaborating with celebrated digital artists Greenaway & Greenaway to tell the story of Waltham Forest as seen through the eyes and experiences of the borough’s young people. Sam Hunt, Creative Director for London Borough of Culture 2019 said: 'Welcome to the Forest is exactly what we think London’s very first Borough of Culture should be about. It will be the biggest party Waltham Forest has ever seen, and it will set a precedent for what London can expect from the rest of the year'. We're so excited! Keep your eyes peeled for more updates. http://socsi.in/TalvinSingh_WvOFs #wfculture19 #mylocalculture #walthamstow #leyton #highamspark #chingford #leytonstone #walthamforest #talvinsingh #welcometotheforest
