Most of the time glute training is mentioned it’s normally in relation to women & dedicated to women...most magazines and e-books always dedicate glute articles & training plans to women. • Now don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with that. But glute training for men has a lot of benefits, not to mention most women find a strong set of glutes attractive, so it’s quick maths really.😜 Benefits include: - ♻LOWER BACK STRENGTH - Most of the time the hamstrings, glutes & the erector spinae work together. When one muscle isn’t working, in this case the glutes, then the others have to compensate. - Strengthening the glutes, will ensure less force is put on the spine during exercises like the deadlift or squats and keep lower back injuries at bay. - ♻HAMSTRING INJURIES - These are common too as more people are now taking up running more than ever, or sprinting as a form of HIIT training. As you take a stride both glutes are responsible for propelling the body forward, with the assistance of hip extension. As mentioned above, if glutes are weak, hamstrings are pulled as a result of trying to make up for the force not being produced by glutes. - ♻STRENGTH - Whenever you are trying to get strong and build a muscular physique, it is important the muscles from the back of your knee to the back of the neck are strong. As these will all aid in improving strength in the big lifts like deadlifts, squats, over head pressing, cleans and so on. If one link in that posterior chain is weak then not only will all these lifts suffer but injuries will also be lingering about. Most people will not address this, because posterior chain work is boring and hard work, but I challenge you to pick two movements like reverse hyper extensions & deficit deadlifts & work on them for the next 12-24 weeks and nine out of ten times not only will your strentgh shoot through the roof, your physique will also improve. - ( continue in the comments below )
