Crow pose was the first arm balance I learned. In the beginning I couldn’t hold myself up for longer than 5 seconds and probably fell on my face multiple times. 🙈 I wasn’t born flexible or particularly strong. I had to work for it.
People often ask, “how long will it take me to get _________?” Whether they’re talking about strength, flexibility or a specific posture, the answer is I don’t know. 🤷🏽♀️ I can’t give you a definite answer or time frame. I can only share with you my own experiences! Everyone’s body and practice is different. From even an anatomical standpoint, we’re all built slightly differently when it comes to our bones. But it also depends on how often you practice.
One thing I can tell you is not to compare your practice to what you see here on Instagram. Don’t worry if it takes you 5 years to get a posture when it only took someone else 1 or 2. We’re all on our own unique paths but on the same journey together. ❤️ Keeping in mind as well, that the pose is never the end goal, it’s just a small part of the practice. 🤗 keep practicing, don’t give up and enjoy the process. 🙏
