Also if you’re looking to warm up the body into a backbend ie. Wheel pose then this is a great sequence! 1 & 2. Cow and Cat Pose Inhale arch your back, exhale round your spine. Repeat 10 times. 3. Tiger Pose Opposite arm and leg. Kick leg back to open up the chest and also stretch the quad. Hold for 5 breaths then repeat on the other side. 4. Seated Backbend Interlace fingers behind you. Stretch knuckles to the ground, squeeze upper back and lift chest. 5. Puppy Pose Keeping arms extended, start with forehead on ground. Then progress with the chin, then maybe chest on the ground. Hold for 5-10 breaths. 6. Bow Pose Grab ankles from outside. Kick legs back, lift thighs off the ground. Allow your arms to move back with your legs, lift chest to stretch the front of your body. 7. Bridge Pose Set up: Fingers should glaze your heels. Pressing inner feet down, lengthen tailbone to heels as you lift hips up. Interlace fingers under back, hug arms in and continue to lift chest. Hold for 10 breaths. 7 & 8. Wheel Pose If shoulders are really really tight, stay with bridge pose. AWAKEN YOUR SENSES / Today after my practice, I decided play on my mat with my eyes folded. Result? My movements were all wobbly, I could not hold the balance on one foot 🦵🏼 and I felt like I wanted to cheat at one point. 🤔 What did I learn? 😇☝🏼I felt the need to awaken all of my other senses to be stable, to root myself, to breathe deeply to find concentration and stillness.
