We walked to Nebraska and back across the Meridian Bridge. All along it people have attached locks of all different sizes, shapes, colors, and formations.
I suppose we do this sort of thing to leave evidence of our existence. To form a memory and to leave one. To say, "I was here," and, therefore, "I am." But in truth we leave memories everywhere we go. We leave traces of our existence every day with or without effort -- more often without. Because we don't build a legacy with locks and trinkets. We build it with every day actions, thoughts, and words.
So the question is, are you present to your legacy? Are you present to who you are being every day? What memories do you leave with strangers? What evidence of you will you leave on this earth?
United Way Day of Caring is an opportunity for people and organizations to #LIVEUNITED and take action to address needs in our community.
Today, over 100 community volunteers completed 9 projects for local health and human service agencies.
THANK YOU for lending a hand and changing lives, one project at a time! #yankton#dayofaction#liveunited#govolunteer
