It's another gorgeous day here, so my daughter and I are going to go out and walk the lake trail and enjoy this beautiful weather! Happy Friday friends!!
We’ve basically been working on getting the addition finished up over this last year. There are always big decisions to make about light fixtures and woodwork and flooring etc.
While I love what we are doing and the progress we’re making, it makes me nostalgic for a time when I wasn’t making big design decisions or waiting for a big project to be completed... and I could lose myself for hours in Martha Stewart magazines ripping out pages of small projects and dreaming of the next holiday. This front room has for the most part, remained unchanged. The original mantel in place, the symmetrical windows, the tiny front hall. Opposite this shot, the grandfather clock my husband gave me sits in the same spot it did almost 20 years ago. This was the first room I sat in, in all its disrepair and soot covered walls and dreamt of a Christmas tree tucked in the corner. As much as things change, they remain the same...and this room reminds me of just that.
