These pink-eared ducks were shot on the opening weekend of the 2018 Duck “hunting” season. Whoever shot them wasn’t interested in retrieving their little bodies from the water and they were left to die from their wounds before being retrieved by me and someone else as part of a @duckrescue on Sunday.
Pink-eared ducks are filter-feeders dependent on plankton, crustaceans, molluscs and insects, and are no threat to crops. Utterly pointless and cruel.
