Never made anything with tofu before, but gave this sticky tofu stir fry a go tonight. Was surprisingly nice. .
Dry tofu and dice. Coat in cornflour/five spice/salt/pepper mix. Toast sesame seeds & set aside. In a food processor: 3 garlic cloves, thumb of ginger, 2 tbsp soy, 2 tbsp rice wine vinegar, 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup, 1/2 lime juice and zest, 1 tbsp of cornflour, small cup of water, a little orange juice and sesame oil, chilli flakes. Fry tofu till crisp then add half the sauce. Remove. Fry veg (broccoli, carrots, pepper, onion, mushrooms, sweet corn, whatever you have). Add rest of sauce and re-add tofu. Serve with brown rice, spring onions, lime slice and the toasted sesame seeds. Nom.
Anything you can do with 🐔, I can do with tofu ◻️⬜◽...like this mid-day mouthful 👉🏻 Orange glazed tofu with fresh lime juice & black sesame seeds, over whole grain brown rice 🌱
I totally opted for convenience here... (Trader Joe's frozen food section is a godsend)...but you can easily pan fry some #organic#nongmo sprouted Tofu and create a glaze with juice/zest from an 🍊+ sweetener + some cornstarch to thicken. ✌🏻
Random sidenote: Potatoes (😼) is really mellow today after his humidifier "steam" yesterday [if you haven't seen the story, it's worth flipping through the 'story time' archives). Today was the first time ever that I got to cook in the kitchen without him up on the counter all up in my biz... 💁🏻♀️💁🏻♀️💁🏻♀️
