Taiwan, what a beautiful country. The people are soo friendly and if you look slightly confused they will come up to you and start helping you. I was curiously looking at a traditional dessert being made on the street and this woman came up next to me and said, "that's blah blah blah, a taiwanese traditional dessert made with ____, covered in ___, and filled with ___." I said "Xie xie" and then she disappeared in the crowd.
This was a business trip but I got to spend one day to explore. The lady in charge of our trip said I won't have time to make it outside the city to the waterfall but I didn't believe her so another colleague and I hopped on the local bus anyway and navigated our way to this beauty with the help of friendly locals.
One of the best ways to see a new place is to take a local bus anywhere and just stare out the window :) the view was stunning from the mountains - cities are always prettier from the outside lookin in. I think.
