rough and exciting🇪🇸 from @lafouceller
Lafou El Sender 2013. 60% garnaxta negra and 40% (?) syrah.
Nose: soft fruit, anise and oak barrels.
Taste: dried fruit and sweet raspberries at the start. a bit of plum in middle. noticeable tannins. some acidity fits the food. long spicy finish with licorice and anise. good heat from the alcohol.
Syrah/ Grenache blend from La Livinere, the best vineyard site in the Minervois region of the Languedoc. Young, purple; on the nose scorched earth, rosemary, blackberry, white pepper; on the palate grainy youthful texture, black fruits, spice, hint of watermelon before the early picked unripe plum skin finish. Just a pup but drinking well now, especially with a meaty, rich sauce. Be amazing in 5-10 years.
