But there are plenty of good changes happening in our environment, too. NASA recently released new satellite photos and confirmed that the world is becoming a greener, and leafier place — thanks largely in part to the efforts by India and China to plant new trees. ⠀ ⠀ In the past two decades, NASA reports, the planet’s green leaf area has increased a total of 5 percent, which is equal to about two million square miles or the entire area of all of the Amazon rainforests. Feeling like a seafood dinner tonight - I opted for a sustainable choice of mussels. TGIF! I still feel like I need more coffee, though. How about this @slanewhiskey Irish Coffee? Not long ago we tried some cocktails @thewalkerinn and learned about Slane’s sustainable and zero-waste approach to making Irish whiskey, from using the material for cooking to heating up the castle. (The wife of founder Alex Conyngham was an environmental consultant. He has to listen to her but it’s a good thing 😉). . On another note, I didn’t realize it would be my last time at Walker Inn since they announced they’re closing Feb 17 😔 if you can, go before they close!

I've been thinking about home, and what that means to me. . On Arpil 26, 2011, I wrote “Home” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Home is the ground beneath my feet. Home has never been one place for me. I learned to fight for myself, And never to depend on anybody else. So my home is wherever I decide to go, Whether it be through sand or through snow. . Home changes faster than the days. I never know how long I will stay. Home is always a different direction. I count on only myself for protection. I don’t know where I will be tomorrow. Or who’s company I will borrow. . But tomorrow does not worry me one bit. Because still today I have no where to sit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I found this old poem recently, surprised to still understand the feeling so much, but from a positive point. . Home is not where you are, nor where I've been. For me, home is only inside myself, my heart and mind. It's a beautiful and freeing thing to be comfortable in so many different places and different humans in the world. . Where I grew up, is simply that. A land filled with memories of the smell of cut grass, crackling rocks on dirt roads, pumpkin bread at fall, peanut butter fudge at Christmas, familiar smiles, balconies and patios, and so much love. But my home, it is not, nor has it ever been. . Being detached from a place allows me to move on easily and adjust quickly. Maybe in your eyes you differ, and that's okay. This is me.
