WHY IS THE QUADRATUS LUMBORUM IMPORTANT❓❓ - Keep your QL happy is the key to a healthy lower back and peak performance. Many of times when people have lower back pain, they look into the hip flexors and the glutes and they completely forgotten about the QL. Firstly, the medial fibers attaches to the spine and it also connects your ribcage to your pelvis. So for example, when you hold a heavy briefcase on your right hand, your left QL contracts to keep you leaning to your right. Secondly the lateral fibers play an important role in lateral bending mobility. When you lean to the side, the lateral fibres must lengthen then contract to pull you back. QL would also need endurance strength it’s primary role is to provide lumbar stability. - Here is my SECOND favorite stretch for the QL. My favourite would be the doorway stretch, but however can’t be done everywhere so I’m posting this first. Look out the doorway stretch that I’ll be posting in the coming week. If you sit a lot, chances are your QL will be tight. Stretch it out and feel amazing afterwards 💯 - Tag a friend with lower back pain ✌🏼

A little bit of my full body stretching routine that I don’t do enough! Something that’s been on my mind lately is the subject of consistency. No matter what you are working towards in your life, whether it’s fitness goals, financial goals, family goals, career goals, being a great parent, or fill in the blank, the power of being consistent in all of those areas is what will set you apart from everyone else. There is no easy route, quick fix, lottery win, etc that can take the place of hard work. Don’t shy away from putting effort towards something you want to accomplish just because it seems tough. This world doesn’t owe you anything. If you want to achieve something WORK HARD TO GET THERE. The confidence that you will gain once you accomplish something on your own is worth the work in itself.
