What are you expecting God to do today?⠀
I think there are times every day when we miss how awe-inspiring God is simply because we’re not looking.⠀
The morning I took this photo, I woke up at 5am, looked out the window of my Seattle hotel room and saw only overcast skies and darkness. I was about to head back to bed for a few more hours, but it was the last day of my trip, so I decided to get my camera and see what I could photograph—and I’m glad I did. As I walked out the entrance of the hotel, I got to stand in awe of this sunrise! 🌅⠀
I think we often miss the “awe” of life, because we don’t go looking for it. We look out the window of our lives and don’t see anything exciting, so we close the blinds and go back to sleep. But sometimes, this means we miss God in the process! I mean, did you know that the Jewish rabbis believe the bush Moses found in the desert was ALWAYS burning … but one day, he happened to slow down long enough to actually see it! And it was only when Moses stepped toward the “marvelous sight”, that he heard the call of God on his life. As my friend @RabbiMoffic says, “we have to be open to awe.” Moses was—are you?⠀
Did you wake up this morning expectant about what God might do through you today?⠀
Are you listening today for the call of God on your life?⠀
Are you open to awe … or are you focussing instead on a dark, overcast situation in front of you?⠀
If you want me to pray today, that you will NOT miss the marvelous sight of God in your life today, let me know.⠀
Love you guys — Dave.⠀
