From Milan to Milton Keynes, oh how one bank holiday can vary from another! This long weekend is all about family, and for the first time ever it’s about mine AND my Bearded Human’s families coming together 😬 First though, it’s coffee and breakfast whilst eagerly watching the skies for a sliver of sunshine ☀️
A Sussex word, used to describe a narrow passageway between buildings.
This is a pretty example of one. (Taken between the biblical rain showers we had yesterday.)
I’m really hoping the sunshine comes back for the bank holiday weekend; today is looking decidedly grey at the moment!Xxx
If you could do with a pick me up or a way of looking at life from a different perspective this morning, then I recommend having a go at completing this sentence…
“Today I get to……”
This will encourage you to see your life and the things you do from a place of opportunity, fortune, gratitude and choice.
As opposed to finding yourself saying “Today I have to…..”.
Which puts you into a place of obligation, hardship, resentment and into the role of victim.
In my little world - “Today I GET to walk my dog, I GET to choose how I work and where I place my focus, I GET to have what will undoubtedly be an interesting conversation with a client, I GET to offer support to a friend and I GET to have dinner and chinwaggery with some school friends.”
Telling myself my story of today in this way puts me straight into the headspace of ‘lucky me, that I GET to do all these things!’.
Now I want to know, what you ‘get’ to do today?
