To overcome a bad workout it helps when you have a good workout the very next day. Tonight's plan was 4 miles easy, then 3x1.5 miles at 10K pace (7'10") followed by 3 minute recovery jog, finish with 1 mile cool-down. I managed 7'03"-7'09". Woke up, arrived at @otfcloster to find out it was a #benchmark day 😱 . . 12 minute 🏃🏻‍♀️ for distance...totally not prepared...back hurting from arthritis...no turning back now! . . Day 3 of attempting to run and I’m afraid to push myself for fear of getting hurt again. So I took it easy started at 5.5 and every two minutes I started upping the speed by .1-.2. Got to the last 3.5 minutes and just kept pushing the speed finishing at 8.5 mph. Could I go faster? Perhaps but I don’t want to break myself again.
