We live in a society that rewards quick fixes, achieving more with less, and getting things done as fast as possible. Our packages show up in two days, all the information you could want is stored in your pocket, and you can get your groceries delivered to your doorstep. We rarely take time to slow down, and when something takes longer than planned....it must be wrong. Right?
We all have this set mentality of how quickly we should be able to achieve some goal, action, or finish a task. Most times, it’s based off of what other people we know have accomplished, even if that is entirely inaccurate for us. Things that come quickly and easily? They usually aren’t worth it.
It took me four years of strange coincidences to finally end up with the love of my life. It took going to school ten hours away from my home to find my true career path. It took TIME and effort to lose weight and get healthy. And heck, it takes time every weekend for me to drive to the store and get groceries. If I didn’t spend the time, I would probably be in another miserable relationship, have a job I hated, still be overweight and self conscious, and well in reality I would still need to eat (but it would probably be a heck of a lot more pizza 😂🤷🏼♀️). We only get so much time on this earth, so instead of comparing your time to someone else’s....LIVE it. Enjoy it. And don’t let anyone else tell you that the path you are taking is the wrong one. 🦄✌🏼
