Today’s Back Strengthening & Flexibility Pose - Marjaiasana: The Cat/Cow Pose increases flexibility of the neck, shoulders, and spine. The movement also stretches the muscles of the hips, back, abdomen, chest, and lungs. Cat Stretch held at its peak releases tension of the upper back and neck. Method * Stand on all fours, such that your back forms a table top * Your knees should be placed hip-width apart. hands should be placed flat on the floor, right under your shoulders. * Look straight ahead. * Inhale and raise your chin as you tilt your head backwards. Push your navel down and raise your tailbone. Squeeze your hips * Hold the pose for a few breaths. Breathe long and deep. * Exhale and drop your chin to your chest as you round your back and tuck your tailbone in * Hold this position for a few breaths.
