This yogi celebration includes an invigorating twilight class followed by cocktail hour on the concourse. For this particular pose, warm up at least 10-20 minutes if you’re cold - spinal movements, Sun sals, etc. For any backbend, we want to lengthen the front body (shoulders, hip flexors, quads) and contract the back body. . . Hold each for 5 breaths - 1. Sphinx 2. Low cobra 3. Cobra or updog 4. Cobra - bend one leg and over over same shoulder, alternate legs 5. Puppy dog - option to straighten legs 6. Locust 7. Locust with hands clasp behind back 8. Half frog (or full) 9. Half bow - alternating legs 10. Full bow 11. Flip grip half bow 12. Prep for full bow - important to protect shoulders from injury by providing full range of motion exercises (like shoulder dislocates with a strap) It’ll be better explained in a video-format!
