Training for parenting . . I pick up my child, I am right handed, I carry her on my right hip, I often carry too many things at once. I am often unevenly and awkwardly loaded . . I often contort my body to get children into car seats, squeezing through the doors in tight car parks to do so . . I often (all the time) pick things up off the floor. I often get up holding a baby from the floor and can’t use my hands . . My body isn’t even but nor is my load. By adding single side exercises you can teach your body to be individually strong and work out the imbalances. You’ll see these exercises in my online programmes and live sessions for the very reason that it’ll help you live life pain and symptom free . . These demands on me wont change but we can train for them, to be strong in these situations. 👶Modeling healthy behaviour for your kids👶 . I'm not expert but i strongly believe kids learn through behaviour modelled by their primary caretakers. As I set up for to hip thrust this little guy started watching and yelled "Mum i want to do it too, followed quickly by ohhh I can't"! . Whenever he says he cant do something my response is " You can but perhaps you just need to ask for some help". So I coached him how to hip thrust and we completed reps giggling and smiling at each other. To me this is absolute pure GOLD. . Not only is he learning new motor skills but we are having a great time together exercising. . There have been many studies to shown that children who had parents or care givers who exercised regularly increased their children's participation in physical activity. This is so incredibly important for their development and health, not to mention your own health! . . What's your favourite physical activity to do with your kids?
