Transformation post. Important lesson below. . The one measurement everyone uses to gauge their success is probably the one that lowest of importance. Don’t get me wrong, if you are looking to gain or lose weight it’s important in the long run. But more to see where you’re going and as a way to know what to do with your plan. . I’m roughly the same weight in both of these pictures. They are 11 months apart. On the left, we have me at the peak of my endurance training for a @spartanrace race. On the right we have me currently cutting down after a 7 ish month bulk. . In both pictures I weigh the same. However I look completely different. How can that be the case? I know what you’re probably thinking... “Yeah but you’re trying to gain muscle, I want to lose weight...” theyre one in the same. The only difference is the calories you choose to eat. . The lesson here is that the scale only tells you literal weight. It doesn’t tell you body composition. It doesn’t tell you that you’re sleeping better. It doesn’t tell you that you’re more confident, it doesn’t tell you that you’re stronger. Which are all measurements I care about more than weight on the scale. . There’s so many things that can influence your weight. Carb intake, sodium intake, activity levels, hydration, time of day, cortisol, inflammation... should I go on? Each of these will cause your weight to fluctuate. I’ve gone up and down 10 lbs in one day. . So next time you step on the scale and it didn’t move in the right direction, remind yourself of this. . Currently in week 5 of my 16 week cut. Can’t wait to see what I look like in another 5 weeks. 3 weeks post challenge and still looking pretty lean. Ive bumped up my carbs and fats back to a higher level than before I started my lean out in August and my power is WAY UP while so far my bodyweight stays the same. My workouts are more intense.
