Added a new exercise at PT 💪🏼 pushed off with my heels, didn’t hurt at all just some tightness. I still need to wear my brace because I can’t go past 90 degrees on this machine. ❗️Meniscus Workout❗️I get asked a bunch about what to do for meniscus rehab. . The main thing I am cautious about is loading lateral/rotational movement and depth...AT FIRST. But I do get to it eventually. . At this point we are about 6 weeks post op repair and 2 weeks into WBAT. . I like these exercises for early loading because of the shorter ROM, sagittal plane focus and they all can be progressed into more challenging versions. . Treatments also include a heavy dose of BFR and a unweighted multi-plane movement prep sequence prior to this. ♥️👍

I’m currently 1 week post-ACL surgery today! Life doesn’t prepare you for obstacles, it challenges your ability to overcome them and grow as an individual. As I look back at my lifestyle before my injury, I reminisce about my fitness accomplishments. Not to be bitter but to understand that behind this delay, comes my motivation to reach greater and bigger goals. Anything is possible. These couple of days have been rough I’ll admit, but I understand that it gets worse before it gets better. 🙏🏽 💙Thank you to all who have stopped by to pay a visit. Does the fear of bulking up simply by touching a weight keep you from making strength training a mainstay of your fitness routine?🙄🙄 . I think especially us women, we have that fear of 'bulking up' so we limit ourselves to what we are capable of doing. . Ladies...there are SO MANY factors that play into how much growth occurs and the ultimate size and shape of muscles. . Gender, hormone levels, age, and nutrition all add variation to the muscle-building paradigm. Other important factors that play into muscle growth are: . 🔸️How often you lift... . 🔹️How often you train each muscle group... . 🔸️How many exercises you do in each workout... . 🔹️How long you rest between sets... . 🔸️How much protein you eat... . 🔹️How much you sleep... . …and that’s just to name a few. . It's only been a couple days on this new program but I am learning so much already. . Firstly I'm NOT going to accidently turn into a linebacker from lifting weights😜 . But I am going to be enjoying similar strength gains without all that 'bulk'!! . In addition to increasing strength and power, it's going to increase my mobility, elevate my metabolism, burn my fat🙈 and enhance my energy levels.💥 . Day 22 .... #Babysteps 👶🏼....... . that’s right after #acl#aclsurgery you essentially forget how to #WALK 🤷🏻‍♀️😤👣 👉🏻 #wordtothewise 👈🏼 . Today was my first day #outside trying to walk, I started with one #crutch and then got frustrated and started holding it up to see if I could do it without the crutch ... I’m working hard at the bend so I don’t walk with a #limp ... some of you may be looking at this like oh my god how is this THAT hard and let me tell you something... SO AM I 😤😤 ..... . I don’t understand why my left leg is walking without that bend ... was outside for 15 minutes trying to remember how to walk!!! doing mini #squats, which btw feel like I’m bending into a hard rock ...and small walks in the driveway and I was exhausted after - so this is something I need to work on everyday now and build up my #strength . . BOTTOMLINE -I want more and I want it now - I will keep y’all posted on my progress . .
