My five-year-old "differently-wired" daughter has been really into art her whole life really. Today we did our own version of a paint night. She was the facilitator, and I would copy everything that she drew, to her specifications. After each rendition, she would comment on how she observed that things can be drawn in more than one different way. "Wow, the sun can be drawn like that, and the sun can be drawn differently like that!", "That's how you draw a hill? This is how I draw a hill", "Now I know that grass can be drawn in different ways!", and, "you drew your bird like that, and I drew my birds bigger!" There were no judgments like that's good or better or bad. It was simply her observations, and beautiful quality time. ❤️ #thepossibilitesareendless #fiveyearoldartteacher #cre#create #differentnotless #neurodiversity #autismawarenessmonth #autismacceptance #differentlywired #tinyartist #redinstead #lightitupblue #presumecompetence #artteachersofinstagram #bornartist #create #kids #consciousparenting #nojudgement

April is Autism Awareness Month - April 2nd was World Autism Awareness Day . . This is an article that I read every year. Autism may not directly affect you and if you have not met an autistic person yet, I am sure you will someday soon.⭐ . . How can you be inclusive and accommodating if you are blissfully unaware? How can you teach acceptance to your kids, if not by example?😕 . . There are a few autistic kids that are very near and dear to me, and their challenges vary on a spectrum, much like autism itself. 🌈 I meet their parents every so often, I hear them talk, their smiling hopeful faces hide the many worries and fears they have about their child's future. Will their non-verbal child ever talk? Will they be potty trained? Or what about the academically gifted ones, will they ever be socially accepted with their quirks? Will they make friends? What will happen to my child after I am gone? . . Take the time to read this article, get a glimpse in the life of a family with autistic kids. Learn about neurodiversities. Remember, Allah swt made us all EXACTLY how he wanted to. Our neurodiversities are not his mistakes, he does not make mistakes. So stop feeling sorry for kids that are different, start taking the time to understand and embrace them. 🙂 👇👇 https://themighty.com/2016/07/autism-is-not-the-problem/ ⭐"...autism is not the problem. The problem is that our world is not set up to either embrace or accommodate neurodiversities." . . #Aut#AutismenessMonth #Autism #Inclusion #Acceptance #Accomodation #Awareness #LightItUpBlue

❤💙💚💛🧡💜 so many times we get that look from others like "what's wrong with her kid?" "They must be bad parents because their kid is bad" It's so hard dealing with all the judgment from others who have no idea... Try offering a smile, or a hand next time. #donnyscolorfulworld #autismSpeaks #autismawareness #notweirdjustdifferent #spectrumdisorders #tightspaces #makeadifference #helpeachother #autismmom #autismfamily #inthistogether #autismstrong #autismacceptance #autismo #autismteacher #autismlove #autismparents #autismspectrum #autistickidsrock #autismsiblings #lightitupblue #autismadvocate #autismwarrior #autismmoms #autismproud #autismeducation #autismlife #autismbrothers
