“Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none.”
- William Shakespeare 💛 I feel like since yesterday, I can finally start writing the next chapter of my life. April 20th, that’s a nice date 🗓 (and I just realised it’s 4/20 in the US, if you know what I mean 😂🍃🌿). I dedicated the past year to helping my family and loved ones with their mental health issues, and I completely lost myself in that process. My psychiatrist told me that usually, people help others because it also makes them feel good. In my case, it consumed me and I felt like I’d disappeared. I’m so used to helping others that I do not know how to ask for help, and regardless I don’t even notice when I need help. I only see it when I’m so exhausted I can’t move, and sleep for 18 hours straight (😮 😴). It took me 12 months to realise this major lesson: YOU CANT HELP PEOPLE WHO DONT WANT TO BE HELPED. Now I know that. What I don’t know though, is why I can’t give up, why I’m so relentless. My psychiatrist told me it’s because I have so much empathy that it’s like an instinct; I also think that’s because it’s how I’ve been functioning all my life. My parents never gave me any advice, and I was the one in charge to reassure them; basically I’ve been a parent since I’m a child (maybe that’s why I don’t want children!?). This experience has made me question a lot of things, but I hope I will gain wisdom and not bitterness from this. I want my heart to stay pure like it’s never been hurt before 💐💫🧡 #lifelessons#mindfulness#intentionalliving#acceptance#lettinggo#acceptyourself#selfcare#amour#lovequotes#growthmindset#wisdom#enlightenment#compassion#kindnessmatters#belgianblogger#frenchblogger#vscoart#photooftheday#model#ootd#hopeful#lifestyleblogger#mentalhealth#mentalhealthawareness
Keep your avocados fresh for longer
I've easily been able to keep my avocados fresh for over a week simply by storing them in the fridge.
I've heard so many comment they're avocados go bad before they have the chance to use them. I was so surprised to find out that not many were aware you could store your avocados in the fridge.
When I purchase my avocados for the week I ensure I pick a good mix of ripe and unripe avocados. I'll leave a few on the bench to rippen and a few in the fridge. Every few days I'll take one or two out of the fridge to make sure I always have a ripe avocado. If an avocado is ready to be used but I won't be using it yet I pop it in the fridge to ensure it last a me a few days more.
Since doing this I've never had to throw out a bad avocado.
What's a hack you do to keep your produce fresh? Let me know in the comments below. 👇
Do you meditate? ————————————————————————
I meditate daily to release stress, to focus on gratitude and improvements as well as opportunities. I do it so I can enjoy my life even more. When I’m stressed, I’m not the best version of myself. But I’m not interested in becoming a good meditator, I do it to get good at life 🙏🏼
