The overuse of anti-inflammatories - I’ve spoken before about the use of pain killers and NSAID’s, and raised the questions as to whether they make your problems worse or not. - Hiding pain is great for getting on with your life, but if you keep ignoring the real issue the pain does not get addressed, leaving you with chronic pain. - For example – anti-inflammatory drugs treat the symptom and not the cause. - Having had personal experience with the over use of anti-inflammatories, I must first say that it’s nice when you’re pain free. It’s addictive… - BUT, and there is a massive but…we, as western individuals use way too many anti-inflammatories and it has to stop. - If we don’t start changing our mindset away from the ‘quick fix,’ then pain will carry on, over medication will carry on and the cycle never ends. Here are some great exercises that have helped me rehab my “golfers elbow” ie: medial epicondylitis. 😍😍😍 Complete rest and anti-inflammatories rarely help with tendon problems. 😓 The best way is to strengthen the damaged structures properly and move! The first exercise is called the “Tyler Twist” using a Flexbar. The point is to eccentrically load the flexor tendons of the wrist. There’s some really good research on the positive effects of eccentric loading and dec pain. (The tendons actually reorganize too!)💪💪💪 The second and third videos, are about decreasing pain and breaking possible adhesions and decreasing sensitivity. The voodoo floss adds compression, blood restriction and movement. The last video is a self myofacial release technique where you press into the flexors and move through a full range of motion.
