Lately, I’ve been so stressed that I’ve developed crippling anxiety, high blood pressure & chest pains (coupled with one hell of a negative attitude 😢). When stress becomes too much to handle, I take myself for “gratitude walks.” I lace up my shoes and head straight to a comforting place (in this case, my favorite park ☀️). I literally walk until I feel release, however long that may be - sometimes it’s 15 minutes and other times it can be over an hour. I walk in silence or with music. Sometimes I cry, but most importantly, I just make myself BREATHE 🧘🏼‍♀️. Even when it’s hard to feel grateful at times, I start to list off hundred things that I am grateful for while I walk. I don’t stop until I feel my muscles start to relax and that tension disappear. I love when my body starts to relax - when I start to feel whole again. Stress release is so important! Stress is a leading cause of illness, disease & unhappiness. You don’t always have to fight stress with a glass of 🍷 or something that can be damaging to your health.
