Day 165: There is a danger when combining more than one style of beer you will not do justice to either style or the beer will feel disjointed. Luckily Bruny Island Beer Co. have avoided both scenarios and brewed this absolute cracker. Made for the 2018 fresh hop harvest festival, this is their New England India Saison Harvest Ale. I love when you crack open a beer and the aromas engulf you and can still be smelt from a distance. I got here some really fresh fruitiness mixed with some grassiness along with the spicy aromas of a saison. The beer is brewed with Galaxy hops and this shines through on the first taste with passionfruit and tropical fruit flavours that then transition into an exemplary fruity saison, with those distinctive yeasty and spicy flavours characteristic of a saison. The finish is dry and had some pilsner type notes and a nice bitterness familiar with Galaxy hopped beers. Everything tastes seamless and perfectly compliments each other to create an outstanding beer. I really need to get to Bruny Island and visit this brewery.
This was about $13.50 after discount at the Oak Barrel. Is it good? Yes.
