Happy Father's Day to all the rock star dad's out there. This is mine. Last Father's Day I gifted my dad a pair of boxing gloves and lifetime access to my classes. I didn't think he'd show up. He surprised me. Not only did he show up, but he's been coming to multiple classes per week for a year straight and never brings excuses with him. He's nearly 60 years of age, comes to class after working 13 hour days and hitting the gym on his own. I'm so proud of him for so many reasons, and this show of determination and drive is just one more thing that makes me admire and respect my father. I love you Dad. Stretching - the essential element to a successful workout. There are two types of stretching - dynamic and static. Dynamic stretching - pre workout stretches using movements like high knees, lunges etc increases the flow of blood to muscles. Static stretching - we spend the last part each class doing various static stretches. These stretches help the muscles to recover after a workout, improves flexibility and helps your body to relax after all that activity!
