8 months apart! On the left, I was coming back from my shoulder injury, pressing around 135x5 on flat bench. 8 months later, thanks to PT and safer lifting, I’m happy to be on the right track and making tremendous progress. THE BIG TAKEAWAY: your progress will NOT be linear. That’s why it’s so important to get in and grind everyday. It all matters, don’t get discouraged, keep your head up, it’ll come. #mybodynice Boxer Speed Workout 😃👍 Speed requires the creation of fast twitch muscle fiber. Speed is the first training session in the Boxing Training week and it places a high load on the upper body muscles and continues to increase it as the workout moves along. It requires both eccentric and concentric muscle movements and recruits a lot of muscle groups to perform what appear to be relatively simple exercises. Each set lasts three minutes (the length of time of a boxing round) and there is Extra Credit for taking no rest between sets (because you are training after all). The aim of each exercise is to get the highest number of reps each time. Technique is, of course, always important but rep count, in this case is even more important so a delicate balancing act must be attained and some sacrifice of perfect form, at least for now, may be in order if it helps give us just a few more reps per exercise. Another week down and it did not go as planned... We had some terrifying things go down in Christchurch last week and even though it affected me different to most people I know, I was and still am a little concerned about the safety of myself and my family. This has stressed me out a little and when I am stressed I eat... so while I was mostly on track with meals, it was the chocolate bars, alcohol and fish n chips we had twice in a week that threw me! However I did still lose!! Down another 500gm... at least the scale is still dropping! I also managed to fit into some fitness clothing I bought as 'goals'... so there were non scale victories this week as well! Excited for the week to come 🖤

. Happy Thursday and DAY 28 of the no gym series!! ✨ Although I didn’t plan on life happening during this challenge, it did. And the lesson here is that is always will. ✨ If you need to take a day or two to regroup or just rest physically or mentally that’s OKAY. ✨ But then you gotta dust off and get back up because taking care of your mind & body & spirit MATTERS. ✨ Even with the passing of my granny a few days ago, it’s hard to not look around and still find beauty, hope, stuff to get excited about, people you love. ✨ It has been clear skies and so sunny the last few days... and although I’m still a mess, and it takes time to heal, I am here to show up for this commitment (to myself, and to those following along!) ✨ The days it’s “perfect” are few and far between. But the days that contain magic and beauty and hope and opportunity are ABUNDANT if you decide to wear rose coloured glasses🙌🏽💜. ✨ 🔥 UPPER BODY🔥 ⁣✨ ➡️Bentover row to reverse fly X20⁣ ➡️Standing Arnold Press X20⁣ ➡️Skull crushers X20⁣ ➡️Push-up OR modified X20⁣ ➡️Plank jacks X20⁣ ✨⁣ Perform in a circuit, running through ALL movements with little to no rest, then REST 1-3 minutes and repeat TWO MORE ROUNDS (total of three).⁣ ⁣✨ ⁣✅SAVE FOR LATER✅⁣ ✅TAB A FRIEND✅⁣ ✅FEEL THE BURN!✅
