Sand Beach in Acadia National Park @acadianps. The water was frigid 🥶. The ocean temperature rarely exceeds 55 degrees in the summer. Kids dared each other to run into the water. Our friend is the biggest kid out there! . . . . #acadia #acadianationalpark #sandbeachacadia #lovemaineadventures #acadiabeach #exploretheoutdoors #maine #visitmaine #roadtrip #nikon #nationalparks #findyourpark #nationalparkswithkids #kidsunplugged #unpluginadventure

We took a few bumpy dirt roads that led us to our airstream (which only added to the experience) and driving back to town gave us this view. It took our breath away.

One of my favorite places on the planet, and also one of the few where one has the privilege to be guided and taught by those who have called this place home for many centuries, our Navajo brothers and sisters. Who else has been lucky to peer through the Keyhole? #flashbackfriday Sep 2006. • • • #monumentvalley #navajonation #keyhole #nativeland #beautifulearth #landscapephotography #naturelovers #discoverearth #southwest #wanderlust #optoutside #vamosafuera #findyourpark #roamtheplanet #awesomeglobe #splendid_earth #earth_portraits #beautyofnature #nakedplanet #theglobewanderer #earthfocus #mexicanwanderer #chilangoingplaces

Fort Casey on Whidbey Island was officially named in 1899, after the last Chief of Engineers, Brigadier General Thomas Lincoln Casey. Highly and affectionately regarded, Casey supervised the construction of many renowned projects, including the Washington Monument and the Library of Congress. #wheresbuddybisonbeen #buddybison #buddysofinstagram #buddybisonadventures #ourbuddybison #BuddyBisonsofInstagram #PacificNorthwestBuddyBison #EvergreenStateBuddyBison #FindYourPark #WashingtonStateParks #wastatepks #fortcasey

AMERICA'S 61st NATIONAL PARK WAS BORN TODAY! The 15,000-acre (6070-hectare) Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore runs along Lake Michigan for 15 miles (24 km). Today is was re-designated by President Trump as and the first national park in Indiana. In addition to sand dunes, the park has many woodlands, prairies, savannas, bogs, wetlands. The highest dune is said to reach a height of about 192 feet (58.5 m) above lake level. "From a marketing perspective, the national park status will put our destination into an elite group of 61 national parks and will significantly increase our already successful marketing initiatives for our region. The Indiana Dunes National Park is Indiana's first national park, and will be a significant boon to Indiana's economic development, specifically tourism, which already pumps $476 million into our economy annually," proclaimed Lorelei Weimer, executive director of Indiana Dunes Tourism. . . #Ind#Indianadunesonalpark #Indianadunes #ind#indianadunesb #indianadunesnationallakeshore #indianadunesstatepark #nationalpark #nationalparks #indianadunesnps #lakemichigan #thirdcoast #midwest #nwi #61 #indiana #nps #findyourpark #southshore #singingsands #greatlakes #chicago #friday #nationalparkgeek #midwestmoment #igersmidwest #naturephotography #steveschmortrip #dunes #usparksandmonuments #visitindiana #61stnationalpark

The Ken Patrick Visitor Center and Point Reyes National Seashore Association bookstore at Drakes Beach will be open all three days of this #PresidentsDay holiday weekend (Sat - Mon). It's a great time to take your family and friends out here to view the elephant seals. Just remember Drakes Beach Road is only open from 9 am to 5 pm each day of the 3-day weekend. While Drakes Beach is getting all the attention for the elephant seals, don't forget that another great place to view the seals is at the Elephant Seal Overlook near the Chimney Rock parking lot. 👉The shuttle buses have been cancelled for the remainder of the season, so there are no restrictions driving out to the Chimney Rock area. Check out our homepage to get all the info you need about viewing elephant seals in the park: www.nps.gov/pore. Have a great weekend! Please share with us your great adventures out in the park!
