I have been following the splendid work of Vouette & Sorbée for many years now, I had the chance to taste all their wines, both young and many years after disgorgement and I have always suffered their undeniable charm.
However, this is the first time I try Fidèle in Magnum format, in this specific case a 2014 vintage disgorged in February 2017 and, as often happens, I found an even better expression in my glass than I had tasted before.
The style is undeniably what I have always loved, expressed through a lightfooted touch and in some ways even thin in the perception of the body. And then of course a very fresh umami and oxidative soul, precise in the aromas of red fruit, straight, dry and sharp in acidity.
The nose, two years after disgorgement, is tidy and precise, very young, with notes of biscuit and cocoa deriving from yeasts, a mineral earthiness deriving from the terroir and waxy tones of cherry candy, result of the personal and characteristic vinification of Pinot Noir.
An absolute treat, at least for me, that at every last sip is already regretted.
