Artisis Talk : Booth #323 #MuuBlanco and special guess: #félixsuazo curator art contemporary • Street without exit: a brief introduction to the "state of the question" More often than is admitted, artistic inquiry leads to dead ends, at least temporarily. What must have been a work remains unfinished or stops at a dead point. This is one of the possible outcomes when artistic work is based on experimentation, which means nothing more than following a trial and error procedure that sometimes simply fails. Now, another very different thing happens when that anomaly is understood as a consequence of a vital practice and becomes a method. Muu Blanco has put together a series of creative exercises that independently do not seem to get anywhere, but whose whole betrays a tenacious and uninterrupted occurrence where the image refuses to realize a final or conclusive gestalt. It is not their purpose, it seems, to consummate a will of form whose outline delimits an inside and an outside. What dominates, however, is an accident, sometimes entropic. What is shown in this selection of works is the oscillating, interrupted, centrifugal flow of what occurs in their study. There the ideas, the objects, the images propose an inordinate occurrence that does not always find a way out. Or perhaps, there is no other destination for them than the unconnected fragment and the endless route. Here is what the artist himself calls "the state of affairs", which at first glance offers news of his itinerary, moments of a success that does not seek certainties but paths of possible aesthetic fecundity. There is no other way out than the incessant search. Felix Suazo, January 2019.
