BAO, a Chinese dumpling fable, created by Disney Pixar's first female shorts director is now playing in front of The Incredibles 2 in theatres!
The Chinese-Canadian story artist Domee Shi (Incredibles 2, Toy Story 4, Inside Out) pitched it to Pete Docter (Inside Out) who became a champion. #bao happens to contain the studio's first WTF moment and a twist ending.
And that's not all. Last fall, she was invited to pitch three feature projects at #disneypixar. One got the go-ahead by the Brain Trust to be a feature film!
And she has been named one of @Variety's "10 Animators to Watch" for her impact to the studio.
