“But let justice run down like water, And righteousness like a mighty stream.” ————————————— If we desire the things of God, we will long for a more just world. Because people often live in rebellion and only seek their own interests, we see hurt, prejudice, bitterness, and hate in our world. We see this in our politics, our popular culture, and even, at times, in our pulpits. Christ calls us to reflect His light in the world. Disciples of Jesus must be the first to stand against injustice in our communities. We are called to proclaim justice and restoration on behalf of the King we serve. We recognize that ultimately lasting justice and living peace come only through knowing Christ as Lord. ————————————— #amos524 #scripture #bible #devotional #devotionalthought #prophet #christ #jesus #christian #christianlife #nameofjesus #matthew51416 #righteousness

The church's one foundation is Jesus Christ, her Lord; she is His new creation by water and the Word: from heav'n He came and sought her to be His holy bride; with His own blood He bought her, and for her life He died. - S.J. Stone ———————————— “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” ———————————— Jesus is the only true foundation for our spiritual lives. The Old Testament looks forward to His coming while the New Testament looks back on His ministry and teachings. The whole of recorded Scripture points to His arrival, life, death, resurrection, and second coming. When we fail to have Jesus as our base, we cannot build a strong and durable spiritual life. Any structure is only as strong as its foundation. The world would have us use anything but Christ as our basis for building (family, career, psychology, entertainment, sex, etc). While these elements often make great additions to our lives in proper proportion, our bedrock must be a solid grounding in Jesus. When He is foremost, every other aspect of life falls into its proper place. Is Jesus the enduring foundation of your life? Are you building a life that is grounded in His power and presence? ———————————— #devotion #devotionalthought #thechurchsonefoundation #psa#psalm11a> #psalm11 #foundation #christ #chr#christianity #discipleship #buildingalife #jesus #priorities #christian #matthew72427 #builtontherock

Surface level or deep? You'll get something either way but it will be a different something. "In the days of the gold rush, people discovered gold out in California. Well, you could pan a little gold dust out of a river, and once and a while, you could even find a nugget here and there. But if you really wanted to strike it rich, you had to dig for it. It's the same way with the Bible. You can skim along the surface of the Bible and pan a little gold - some spiritual truth. You may even find a nugget here and there. But if you really want to strike it rich in the depth of the Word, you've got to dig for it." - Kenneth E Hagin in Love: The Way to Victory • • • Renew your mind on the Word of God. It doesn't necessarily happen quickly or easily. Your flesh may fight for a while because it's been trained to go the way of the world so long. But if you stick with the Word & keep growing, your flesh can develop the habit of righteousness. Develop the habit of feeding on the solid food of the Word every day and find out what real maturity is all about. - Kenneth Copeland • • • Dig Deep: Joshua 1:8 Proverbs 3 & 4 Psalm 119 Ephesians (read and study it continuously) • • • #SpiritOfFaith2019 #devotionalthought #biblereading #biblestudy #spiritualgrowth #maturity

One of the most important things we can do for our life of faith is to continually hear the same message. We can have a tendency to begin hearing a message and go, I know that. We do the same thing when we read the Bible. Because a passage is familiar we catch ourselves skimming and not reading and studying. Hebrews 2:1 instructs us to give earnest heed to things we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. The Passion Translation puts it this way, "This is why it is so crucial that we be all the more engaged and attentive to the truths that we have heard so that we do not drift off course." The New Living Translation says, "So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it. Romans 10:17 says, "faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God." It doesn't come from having heard it a month ago. Faith comes by continually hearing. If we don't continually hear the Word and put our eyes on the Word, we will let basic things slip. Our confession will start sounding like the world instead of the Word. Don't let your faith slip. Always refresh yourself in your foundations and stay strong in the Word. Don't let circumstances or the words of others knock you off of THE WORD. #SpiritOfFaith2019 #devotionalthought #faith #growth #biblereading #confession #consistency #abundantharvest

“He plants His footsteps in the sea, And rides upon the storm.” - William Cowper ————————————— Sometimes when discouraged, I am comforted when I remember that God often moves in mysterious ways. The storms of life that seem impossible to overcome are often in reality watering the dormant seeds of faith in my heart. It is hard to see the good in the midst of trials, yet we are promised that the trying of our faith will produce growth that can happen no other way. Are you in the middle of a tempest right now? Does your trial seem overwhelming? While we cannot see the end, God can and does. He has not promised perpetually fair skies, but He has promised that all things, even life’s hurricanes, will be redeemed for our good and His glory. By faith, we trust that promise, and we grow stronger through the storms. ————————————— #devotional #devotionalthought #romans828 #james12 #williamcowper #godmovesinamysteriousway #gospel #hymn #trials #hardships #fai#faithfulness #faith #grace #providence #christ #christian #christianity #scripture #bible #godsword

“Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.” ——————————— Sometimes in life, it can seem like no one else wants to do the right thing. We start to look around and focus on all the sin, selfishness, and self-righteousness in the world. When we do this, we can’t help but be discouraged. Elijah felt much the same way. He was standing up for truth, yet he found himself in dangerous isolation. God spoke to him in his distress and reminded him that even in the darkest days there are many faithful people behind the scenes. Are you downcast over the state of the spiritual apathy you see around you? Remember God is still present, and His people are still faithful. Seek out those that refuse to bow before sin’s altar, and you will be strengthened in your own faith. ——————————— #1kings19 #1kings1918 #elijah #sin #despair #apathy #depression #spiritualthought #dev#devotionalght #devotional #faith #worship #faithfulness #godsfaithfulness #remnant #oldtestament #idols #falseworship

When we spend time in the Word; reading, studying and meditating on it we learn what it looks like to be like Jesus. When we put the Word into practice we are like Jesus and we will get the same results He had, the same results the disciples had and the same results Abraham, the Father of faith had. When we meditate on the Word it gets down on the inside of us and begins to drown out every negative voice, every question of doubt and every thought of unbelief. Practice meditating on the Word of God. Speak the Word, believe it and do it. It will produce a harvest in your life. Study it: Joshua 1:8 Proverbs 4:20-22 #SpiritOfFaith2019 #devotionalthought #faith #growth #bib#biblereading #confession #abundantharvest #meditate #bible

What we receive and how much we receive from God is in direct proportion of our faith. One of the most important things I continue to understand about walking by faith is that knowing what the Bible says does not automatically equal faith. Yes, faith comes by hearing (Rom. 10:17), but there is more to faith than just hearing or reading Scripture. The Amplified Bible in James says, faith without corresponding actions is dead. The blind men voiced their belief in Jesus to heal them. In Mark chapter five; the woman with the issue of blood 1. Heard about Jesus. 2. Spoke to herself words of faith. 3. Put that faith into action by touching Jesus' prayer shawl. 4. She testified to the healing. Many times in Scripture we see that it is not about God's will but our faith in believing that will. God's Word is His will. Let's put our faith into action today by declaring God's Word over our lives and situations. #SpiritOfFaith2019 #devotionalthought #faith #healing #health #wholeness #prosperity #powerofwords #expectation #decleration #abundantharvest
