One of my favorite ways to get over #humpday is to work my glutes and legs! 🍑🏋🏻‍♀️ Yesterday I mentioned how much I love Bulgarian Split Squats. They work wonders for all fitness goals: ➡️ They strengthen virtually every muscle in your leg and glutes and help correct imbalances through unilateral training (i.e, my left leg is stronger than my right). ➡️ They help slim the legs without adding bulk and tone those inner thighs that I always hear complaints about!! ➡️They can be done ANYWHERE and don’t require equipment! Today I decided to incorporate three of my favorite variations into my workout. As @bretcontreras1 always says, these are hard enough without weight! Swipe ➡️ to see each of my three favorite variations: 1️⃣ Slow and DEEP Split Squat— focus on getting low! Notice how after a few reps, I can get my knee to the ground. This requires a good amount of flexibility that I work on regularly! The deeper the range of motion, the more stress (work) you put on those Glutes and legs, so start practicing! 2️⃣ Double Pulse Split Squats— these engage your muscles more through TUT, or Time Under Tension. It’s another way of putting more stress on the muscles, which breaks down more muscle fibers, which then in turn grow back even stronger (if you allow for ample recovery, of course😜). 3️⃣ Split Squat Jumps— I have a love/hate relationship with Plyos ( as is the case in the fitness industry as a whole, especially in glute training), but I like doing these to really challenge my single leg strength and incorporate Power (explosive) training into my regime. I especially employ these when I don’t have access to weights, want to add intensity to the workout, and I train athletes.
