It's the final day of #RestaurantWeek2018#RWJA@restaurantwkja and I've been holding on to these posts for long because I'm working on something BIG but because there's a little delay, I'll offer them up because I couldn't hold off any longer. Wednesday the foodie group checked out @altamontcourt 's mango tree restaurant. Though not out first choice we were astonished at the superb service, calming ambiance and enticing flavors and promised ourself to go back again.
Pictured first is the Cocount Crusted Shrimp cocktail that 2/3 of us decided on. The mango sauce that it was paired with was very tantalizing and tangy though both of us decided that a little spice added would take the dish to another level.
Second was the callaloo tarts fit for the vegetarian of the group. Though craving for more after they were finished, the pair of crunchy and creamy were all we could ask for in this dish.
Third is what I have not stopped talking about which is the Brandy Flavored Baby Back Ribs. And if you know me you'd know I'm not much of a red meat fan but that being said I tried to venture away from the typical meal and chose that and my expectations were exceeded with the fall off the bone tender meat and the spicy yet sweet sauce. I'll take a to go box right now.
Fourth is the Altamont Jerky Pasta which honestly was a very tantalizing and spicy combination of crunchy vegetables. Between this and the ribs it was a close call to say which was best but I'll admit, this pulled away by a centimeter for making just veggies taste amazing.
Fifth was the dessert which were Cheese Cake delights, lemon and sorrel cheesecake paired together. Unfortunately we didn't enjoy this too much, the crust was a little hard and the flavors didn't meld the way we expected them to.
Finally the drink. A mango daiquiri which is very hard to get wrong but true to their name the Mango Tree Restaurant delivered and it was cool and crisp and refreshing.
Food (excluding dessert): 9.5/10
Definitely looking forward to going back!
