Sorry I’ve been slacking on posts and stories recently, I’ve been nonstop working, and haven’t even been able to work out yesterday and today. Despite that, my last shoulder day went well! I’ve switched my training split like you guys voted I should, so now I’m doing individual days again! This allows me to have shorter workouts, but with higher intensities and pumps! On these, I did work up to a set of 80’s, but only got a few reps, so I bumped back down to 70’s and hit 3 solid sets with them! My shoulders are definitely getting stronger, and that will only help me increase my bench numbers! I’ve been chasing this number for awhile, and it feels awesome to finally be able to say I hit 365 for a single on squats! I only squatted today, hitting some burnout sets at 315 after this for reps of 6, 5, then 7 respectively on 3 sets. Then did some pause squats at 275 and called it a day! I’m still pumped I hit this, and now it’s off for 405 by summer’s end! I’ve recently been doing this four exercise back superset, and I absolutely love it. It’s all with a simple barbell and quarter plates while using the t-bar attachment on any squat rack! The first two exercises simulate one arm rows, while the second two simulate a normal barbell row, but only one side of your back at a time! It hits everything all together, and when super-setted, it really gets a pump going! I hope you guys found this useful and can incorporate it to your next back day! Been pushing myself hard lately in the gym and it seems to be showing! Here’s 275 for my 3rd set of AMRAP. This set is only 11, but I managed to get it for 15, then 13 reps the first two sets! Also, I went up to295 after this for only two sets, but I got 8 and then 7 reps respectively on those two sets! Looks like @kruxfitness is my new home for breaking PR’s! So I came home today to find a letter sitting for me, and it turns out it was from my gym! Inside we’re 4 free day passes, and a $50 gift card to use on either a one year membership, personal training package, in their supplement and product shop, or a physical therapy package. I’ll probably use it on simple things like pre workout, or something along those lines, but I’m still amazed they sent this to me! About these day passes, though.... This footage is from a few days ago, now, but it’s an important video for me to share. As you know, I was away from a couple weeks, and I lost a lot of progress as I wasn’t able to lift while I was gone. However, this was my 5th set of 3 at 295 AFTER 2 sets of 2, then 3 sets of 1 at 315! Even though I was at 6 reps at 315 before my trip, I’m happy to be moving back up rather quickly! These reps aren’t as deep as I would like, but I am also battling some left hip pain, so I’ll take these! (Sorry for the poor angle, and cut off video). Today was my first workout in practically two weeks. It was great to get back to it, but let me just say how frustrating it was to see how much strength I had lost. 275 felt incredibly heavy, and 295 felt even worse. I know I’ll be able to regain it all quickly, but that’s still going to take some time. The purpose of me sharing this is that even if your training seems to be going backwards, you still should be pushing yourself as hard as possible. There was one thing that seemed to be better and that was my form was definitely more solid and deeper! I’ll take that as a win!
