Today is our 32 years wedding anniversary. I love Him so much, we have lived in Az, Ecuador. ID and Utah, we have raised the 4 of the most beautiful souls together, we have loved each other through thick and thin literally and we support each other in all kinds of adventures but what I love the most about him is how compassionate, sweet, tender hearted and how he makes me laugh every day. He makes me feel like I’m the most important person in the room wherever we are... of course in a funny kinda way, he loves me unconditionally and I love him back. #yog#yog#yog#yog#yogachallenge #newyear#yogafamily #yoga #yog#yogi #yogachallenge #PathsOfMotherhood #yogagirls #yogajourney #yogi #sexyyoga #yoga #yogalife #myyogalife #yogafit #yogabody #startyoga #yoganewbie #yogachallenge #hattayoga #beagoddess #consciousparenting #yogafamilylifestyle #yog#yogateacher #yogateacher #practiceyoga #yogateachertraining

“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. We only have to contribute our share - a little piece of the puzzle. It isn't all up to us; we are not the ones holding up the world or the people who inhabit it. It's okay to step back and step out. #ad I can’t even begin to express how grateful we are for these warmer spring days we’ve been having lately. Asher has just been wanting to spend all day outside, and I’m all like heck yes- bring on some much needed Vitamin D. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One of my favorite parts of warmer weather is being able to get outdoors more for exercise. I love taking Asher on walks to the library, or going for a good run or hike in the woods, and while possible in the winter, warm weather days are just more my scene. (Ask me again why I live in MN 🤷🏼‍♀️?) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This past weekend the hubs caught this sweet shot of us doing yoga on our back patio. Yoga is something I started doing with Asher as a baby, and we’ve weaved it into our weekly routine this past year as a way to encourage calm and focus on both our parts. We’ve been using our living room as our “studio” for months now, and I’m thinking this nice weather is just calling us to relocate ☀️. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In an effort to encourage a love of an active lifestyle in children at an early age, @healthwarrior (maker of healthy snack options) and Fit4Mom are teaming up this week for “Bring Your Kid to Workout Day” on April 27th. Asher and I have got our yoga mats ready to roll out, and I’d love for all of you to join us as I can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday than modeling healthy, lifelong habits for this precious future generation of ours. You can pledge to participate with your little ones by going to the link in my bio. #healthwarrior #bringyourkidtoworkoutday . . . . . . #yogakids #yogababy #mindfulnesspractice #mindfulnessforkids #activekids #healthykids #mommyandson #littleyogi #healthyhabitshappymoms #beyond_motherhood #acupofmotherhood #our_everyday_moments #the_sweet_life_unscripted #ohheymama #stopdropandmom #consciousparenting #cultivatewhatmatters #mamatribe #makeitblissful #momlifestyle #adventuresinmotherhood #theartofslowliving

The work they see us do is important. . In Waldorf education the term “you do your work and I’ll do mine” is commonly used to guide a childs attention back to their “work” or play. . In Montessori, the magic moment we all hope for is what Maria Montessori recounts as “The children are now working as if I do not exist”. . And in the book The Continuum Concept, one of the core observations of the Yequena tribe was that their children are never the center of attention. They are always near, always loved, but the parents are always doing their own work as the children are worn in a carrier or playing around on the ground below. The book was written after noticing that these children never cried, didn’t have tantrums, played safely with knives, played peacefully with peers etc. . This is not easy to do. It’s easy to play FOR your child. It’s easy to fall into the role of entertainer. I’m always working on this. And I have to remind myself that the more I’m inside of her play the more distracting it is for her. Because it becomes her performing rather than getting lost in it on her own terms. @respectfulmom has incredible tips for child led play. . There are times when one-on-one focused attention is needed of course. But we can give our presence and love and still be showing them our joyful work. . Another Waldorf Concept I learned from @wholefamilyrythm is for adults to have “handwork”, this could be knitting for example. Something that keeps you engaged and joyfully focused but close to your kids. They will watch you and learn the gift of slow and meaningful handwork. . To put this into practice, I’m going to makeover our garden over the next few weeks. I will be weeding, planting, moving, hauling and designing. All with my 22-month old there beside me doing her work while I do mine. I can guarantee there will be lots of nursing breaks and taking breaks to sit and read together but I’m excited to focus on this project with her watching. . Thank you @brooklynmorninggarden for your prompt on this yesterday 🙏🏻 What meaningful work do you like to do in front of your kids?
