Throwback because I read this book back in 2015 or 2016. I wanted to bring this up again, cause I hope some of you might decide to read it. I already said it back then, but I never read about someone as brave and as inspiring as . The way she shines a light on this topic eventhough or especially because of her struggles is something I admire from the bottom of my heart. It is a true eye opener to a topic many people don’t know much about or are not told much about from the media or in general.I knew just a tiny bit of this huge rattail of despair and suffering, before I read this book and was so glad that my eyes had been opened. More people need to become aware of what is happening on this world, without it getting sugar coated... 감사합니다 years later, and once again for writing this book. 🙇🏻♀️
Synopsis; Human rights activist Park, who fled North Korea with her mother in 2007 at age 13 and eventually made it to South Korea two years later after a harrowing ordeal, recognized that in order to be "completely free," she had to confront the truth of her past. It is an ugly, shameful story of being sold with her mother into slave marriages by Chinese brokers, and although she at first tried to hide the painful details when blending into South Korean society, she realized how her survival story could inspire others. Moreover, her sister had also escaped earlier and had vanished into China for years, prompting the author to go public with her story in the hope of finding her sister. •

I’ve been avoiding posting because I couldn’t find the *right* photo. Also I kept falling asleep 💁🏾♀️.
But some funny shit happened a few days ago and I tried to make something with bananas and ... yeah😩😌😅. Its on my profile.
BUT I SUBMITTED MY MASTER THESIS. ((Literally right on THE DOT. With not a millisecond to spare.) @alesiaaal And I stress laughed for the next five minutes.) Such a relief 😩. Never want to write another thesis in my life tbh. Or read one.
“I had only some dim and unformed sense, a sense which struck me now and then, and which I could not explain coherently, that for some years the South and particularly the Gulf Coast had been for America what people were still saying California was, and what California seemed to me not to be: the future, the secret source of malevolent and benevolent energy, the psychic center.” Joan Didion | South and West: From a Notebook ————————————————-
A lot has changed, but I still talk about Joan Didion a whole bunch.
