10 Chin-Ups Goal 💪🏼 About two years ago now, when hanging out of a bar for time in a gym class, I set myself the goal of being able to do a Pull-up/Chin-up. I was in awe of my trainer being able to do lots of Pull-ups. He had told me Chin-ups (underhand grip) were slightly easier than a Pull-up (overhand grip). At this time I had no movement in my arms or back when I attempted to pull myself up, it seemed impossible. I practiced using a band, but what had the most effect was doing negatives- climbing /jumping above the bar and lowering myself slowly and holding arms at a 90 degree angle for 30 secs each time. After a month I finally got 1 unassisted proper form full Chin-Up. I was delighted with myself and thought if I practiced each day after my gym class for about 10 minutes, I’d eventually get better and be able to do more. I optimistically set myself a goal of 10 consistent Chin-ups by the end of the year. It’s about 2 years now and my PB is finally 9! Persistence has been key. I have one early video showing what I was like at the start and a video of how I’m progressing to date. I’ll post these in the coming days and give more tips on how I’ve been working towards this goal. #fitspo #instafit #fitnessgoals #gym #fitnessmotivation #fitnessjourney #girlswholift #pullups #chinups #bicep #backmuscle #conditioning #girlswhotrain #thepump #gymmotivation #irishfitfam #fitfam #muscle #workout #gymlife #gymaddict #dedicated #practice #goals #progression #strongwomen #fitlifestyle #adidas #venicebeach #bodyfitdiaries
