Japanese Hikyaku is printed on the chest. “Hikyaku” literally means “flying foot” and actually it is an express mail man( by running! 🏃 💨) in Edo era, about 300yrs ago in 🇯🇵 Japan. 3 days to 30 days delivery one way from Edo (Tokyo) to Kyoto. That’s 368km (or 228.7 miles) Speed depended on who was ordering or how much they were paying. There were many relay stations across the nation, many of which have developed into local towns now. Hikyaku is also origin of Ekiden (relay distance running race)! Type 1 Strong 💪🏻 This week I have had bad insulin, too much insulin and 2 failed Dexcom sensors...and it’s only Wednesday 🙈 But with @thespeedproject a little over a month away, I will make no excuses & let nothing get in my way. For those who have no clue what living with this disease is like, it’s like having a newborn baby. It requires constant attention, care and maintenance. It changes every day, no matter what you do. And just like a baby, it can be exhausting, rob you of your sleep and try your patience. #truth . . However, it will never prevent me from reaching my (sometimes crazy) goals. PURA MAGIA!!! Eso es para mí correr.
