HER FACE WAS POURING WITH PUS - BUT THIS BEAUTIFUL PUPPY PULLED THROUGH
Look at that poor little face. "This female puppy who was about ten weeks old when she was rescued by our night rescue team Rajesh, Mahesh and Banna," explains TOLFA founder Rachel Wright. "She had a big weeping abscess on the side of her face that was pouring with pus. She was in a lot of pain when she arrived and because of the swelling and the fever it was causing, she wasn't eating." Treatment commenced straightaway. She was put on IV fluids for three days, pain relief and IV antibiotics for seven days, as well as extra vitamins and feeding. Thankfully the puppy started eating again after a few days. "The abscess had already burst open before she was rescued," Rachel says. "It was flushed with diluted povidine iodine solution for three days, until the pus had stopped." The wound was then antiseptically dressed for a further week. "Being so young, the puppy made a quick recovery and after fifteen days was ready for release to a new care person," says Rachel, adding: "She was a very loving and playful puppy." And just look at her now ❤️ We're very happy to see her healthy again and knowing that she has someone looking after her back home. We wish you all the best, little one!
