I had a lovely weekend catching up with my Yorkshire Besties this weekend. One of the (many, huge) meals we had was Afternoon Tea at Ashmount in Haworth. The food was fab but Oh my god ( it was deserving of the actual words rather than a flippant OMG) the house!! Built by the good friend and doctor of Patrick Bronte, it served as both his home and surgery. It remained a doctors for many years and is now a guest house. THANKFULLY, every owner has left the majority of the houses original features in tact and is today, pretty much as it was when the Bronte Sisters visited with their father and brother. The stained glass windows are also original and apparently, are worth more than the house! If you’re in the area, it is well worth a visit. .
I’ve just returned from a long weekend spent in London celebrating a milestone birthday and I can now reflect on the beauty and grandeur of this establishment. Christmas afternoon tea with carols in the Palm Court at The Ritz, a Grade II listed, 5-star hotel famous the world over. The exterior is Franco-American and the interiors are designed in Louis XVI style. A truly special experience. #theritz#theritzlondon#hotels#afternoontea#christmas#london#england
