Practicing my overhead squats earlier in the week. 1st clip - 1st attempt using ash bar, lots wrong with form 2nd clip - drilling movement with ash bar after correcting some form issues (including using plates to overcome my limited ankle mobility) 3rd clip - 1st attempt with weight and I started lifting my heels, knees going over toes - yikes! 4th clip, pushing heels down, hips back, straight back and and tight torso, lats locked down, arms locked out and breathing - think I’ve just about got it. Phew 😅 so much to think about 🤯!! Ahhh I feel like such a muppet I forgot to post about my new job! Oh well it’s only been 14 weeks..... 😂🙈 Deffo thought I should update you on this one though as I know I moaned a lot about having nothing to do post op, in fact it really got me down having no routine or responsibility. If there’s one thing #OHS is good for, it’s giving you lots and lots of time to think. So I made a decision, this winter I’m going to apply for a ski season, working abroad in the alps for 6 months hopefully as a resort rep. Those jobs don’t start until October/November though so I knew I needed something to keep me busy in the mean time. That’s how I started working at GSK! I applied for a temp position through a local agency and they placed me in the clinical trials unit at my local hospital. I absolutely love it. I’m only working as a receptionist but the people are all wonderful and it feels SO good to have a routine back in my life ❤️ I’ve had lots of people notice my scar and ask questions, and of course the question of ‘what did you do before this job’ came up. So i’ve just been super honest. It’s good to share awareness and also the best way to make light of my journey is to show people that its no big deal and be super comfortable talking about it. On days where I’m not feeling quite so confident, I just rock a turtle neck 🐢 🤷🏼‍♀️ In terms of stamina, this job is 8-4 everyday, it’s a lot going from sleeping in until 12 but I’m sure I’ll get used to it soon! 🤞🏻 Oh and p.s, turns out I need glasses!!! P.p.s, my headphones are a disgusting mess I know 😂

E vamos de Overhead Squats, um terror para muitos, mas sem dúvidas, um dos mais belos movimentos quando bem executados. O fato de o OHS (Overhead Squat) aterrorizar muita gente, se deve muito a falta de mobilidade. Principalmente no caso dos homens, os anos de supino, falta de alongamento, e o fator genético de sermos menos flexíveis que elas, vem a tona na hora desse movimento.
