Jump! Because it was impossible to refuse a woman who had spent every day of her life walking several miles up and down between the same few watchtowers on the Great Wall selling very few small things to the occasional tourist in this pretty remote area through the extreme heat of summer and even snow in winter... She said, ‘Jump! It will look good’. Not sure about that, but someone’s athleticism is clearly shown - and we had such a lovely time talking to her ... it was an amazing day and very happy we conquered it on public transport too. Performing tomorrow- Saturday 26 October on the headland where the Royal Charter went down 160 years ago. 1859 to the very day ... An incredible project brought together by @anthonygarrattartist . Extremely proud to be playing a piece effectively composed by the wind with a male voice choir and the bell from the Royal Charter itself . The journey today up from London has been a little rocky and as I look out of the train window about five hours later than planned, the rain is consistent if not torrential. An outside performance with and in the elements tomorrow threatens to be challenging!! Anthony Garratt has made a 4.5 metre wide painting panel, with a black foresail, shaped to echo the rig of the Royal Charter and it is sited on a coastal position near to the location of the wreck off Moelfre, East Anglesey. He has joined with shipwrights, a weather data and tech expert, engineers and a poet and he has now composed music to be played from the data readings of the movement that the piece made with the prevailing winds. There is so much to love about this entire project and I have been fascinated from the outset. How many more ingredients could be linked in this most romantic of stories? We already have a storm, steam, shipwreck, daring rescue, lost lives, sunken gold ..and a pioneering meteorologist Vice-Admiral Robert FitzRoy.. #toallatsea #anglesey #shipwreck #royalcharter #sea #waves #seapainting #seascape #artinstallation #publicart #artcurator @theoutbuildings #artcollector #musician #violinstagram #violinists #worldpremiere #northwales #contemporaryart
