I have been pretty quiet around here. Honestly, at the end of my wedding season, I jumped right into focusing on my family. Not having to juggle work and mom life has been great! 😅 However, sweet posts like this, from a dear client of mine, get me so excited for 2019 and all the amazing weddings I have coming up! . . #Repost @huangjade ・・・ We worked with such amazing vendors who are absolute artists, and @pap@paperheartpatisserie is one example. Bhavin and I both love food, so we definitely wanted a cake with awesome and different-than-usual flavors, and Amanda's cake list sounded super yum. Funnily enough, I totally botched my tasting as I didn't let the cake come up to room temp before eating (lesson learned) but Amanda was so kind to let us do a second tasting with some off-menu flavors which were BOMB. We ended up going with three flavors: matcha green tea with pistachio buttercream, elderflower rose lemonade, and raspberry rose coconut. In terms of the design, my Pinterest board was all over the place. I loved naked cakes, cakes with floral decorations, etc. We had a design meeting 2 months before over the phone where she brought it together and proposed these works of art in coordination with our proposed color scheme (blush, gold, white, eucalyptus green, navy). Out of the five sketches, we fell in love with the first, which had abstract brush strokes, flecks of gold. SOLD. In our interations, we ended up on four tiers, with a hexagon tier at second to the top. Although I had pinned a bunch of silly cake toppers that were Totoro-themed or Pokemon-themed, we decided to do without and let the cake stand on its own. Our florist, @dix@dixonflorist, worked with Amanda to add just a couple floral touches the day of. I wish we could have eaten more of the cake! Thank you so much Amanda for your artistry and flavor geniusness <3 Photography: @anneclairebrun Cake: @paperheartpatisserie Cake stand: @cb2 Floral: @dixonflorist

The background and table are just as important as your cake’s design. I always encourage clients to consider the best way to showcase their edible and custom art. I love how @danielleroeevents styled this cake table at @thewillowballroom.| photo @ryangreenleaf

Photos from @nadineshahbaz and Dan’s incredible 3 day wedding weekend are ready to be revealed! This was most definitely a project to remember! I absolutely loved working with this team and, truly, the sweetest bride and groom! The hand embossed cake, with delicate edible flowers, was a custom design inspired by Nadine’s gown and the floral motif from the paper suite. . . 📷: @ktmerry | Venue & 🍽: @meadowoodnapavalley | 📋: @tworoadseventco | 🌸: @michellelywood | 🎥: @owlandtreefilms | 💌: @primandpixie | 🖋: @calligraphynerd | 🍰: @paperheartpatisserie | 👰: @oscardelarenta from @markingrambride | Wedding dresser: @theweddingdetailor | Hair & 💄: @teamhairandmakeup @mar__teamhairandmakeup | 🤵🏻: @monsieurbrunold

As much as I adore working with fondant, there’s nothing quite like pops of colored buttercream on a smooth cake with some raw gilded edges.

These are some of the last batches of macarons for the 2018 season! It’s cake and family time from here on out. ❤️

The hardest part about working with the most amazing clients is having to wait several months to bring their custom designs to life. It feels like “foreva, eva”! . The next tough thing is waiting to se professional photos and settling for crummy iPhone pics in the meantime. 🙈 . .
