new record Canticles of the Sky:
Been working so hard on this it's been in my head for a year now at least but suddenly the order has presented itself and I'm very excited. It's the day 2 of DEEP鉃癕INIMALISM 2.0 at Southbank Centre on 3rd November 2019. Three years ago was the first festival in Westminster, june 2016 day after infamous vote, now this festival 2/3 November comes 3 years later supposedly straight after UK Brexit date, anyway it's a time for healing and modulating the mind towards sound as binding material and relationships between people, we start with 3 hours of Eliane Radigue and end with Nivhek. Also I'm not aware of many public listening events where people are blasted with Tod Dockstader's music so we're gonna pummel people in the darkness before soothing them with Malibu & 16 cellos from LCO etc. Lot of work to do! 馃暞

Some pics from August now going off on a singing course with the Amidon family on the Scottish border. Love their setting of this line: The Tomb it could not hold him, he burst the bars of death

Today is the release of my new record Canticles of the Sky for 16 cellos by John Luther Adams, alongside Three High Places for solo cello. It has been nominated for Best Classical Album 2019 at the Libera Awards by A2IM (American Association of Independent Music). To buy it click on the link in biog above. It was previously available as a vinyl exclusive for Record Store Day 2018, there are still copies on vinyl out there, it's released on RVNG Intl. 馃寣
