Last day of #NYFW.
Richard Avedon and Lauren Hutton, 1973 🍾
We went backstage with Hairstylist @hollismithhead at NYFW’s favorite Eckhaus Latta. FW19 makes Smith’s 6th season working with the innovative brand; In previous seasons we saw cone shapes, clay application and “squidhead” styling from the Brooklyn based artist.
Today Holli’s inspiration was “subtle static, like you just took off your sweater.” ⚡️
Throughout F/W 19 Models.com and Art Partner will be exploring in each of the 4 fashion capitals the partnerships between exceptional behind-the-scenes artists and the brands that call on their distinctive vision time after time to get from backstage to the runway.
As certain as are the seasons of fashion, so too is our CONFIRMED series: the mega go-see at the top of #NYFW that rounds up forthcoming faces headed into the four week circuit. ✅

We’re going backstage with Holli Smith (@hollismithhead)! You know the Brooklyn based hair stylist and her dynamic doings from the runways, especially with NYFW’s favorite Eckhaus Latta. Smith is going on her 6th season working with the innovative brand for the F/W19 show on Saturday; “The clothing is intricate but playful, thought provoking and genderless. Eckhaus Latta has been diverse and all inclusive before it was trending. This has always been what has made me drawn into working with them. Mike and Zoe are the most fun in terms of experimentation and supportive of my ideas,” says Smith. In previous seasons she’s brought to life ideas like abstract cone shapes, clay application and “squidhead” styling. All of which makes us excited to see how their latest collaboration will manifest: “I look at the clothes and casting and factor in the show venue, music and light... the hair concept has to work with the atmosphere and clothing.” Tomorrow Holli Smith will take us backstage during Eckhaus Latta! 🤫
