We believe that suicide is preventable and that access to support for people in distress can save lives. Last month, we answered 4,064 calls to our free, 24/7 helplines. That's one call every 10 minutes.
There are so many ways businesses can get involved and help provide support when it's needed most. This could be through payroll giving, volunteering or donations of goods / services. MRC Global matched employee donations and presented us with the total amount this week and AMI Riccarton donated food to fuel the Christchurch volunteers. If you'd like to give back to the community your employees and customers live in, supporting Lifeline is a great way to do it! Thank you so much to the businesses that help us answer the phones and save lives.
The support of connected and caring communities is an important way to prevent suicide. @nei@neighboursdaynz is happening on Mar 24-25 and whether your an individual, group or a business, you live in a house, an apartment, flat or something else entirely you can host an event and connect with your community. Check out the @neighboursdaynz page to find out more. #nda2018
