34 years today we played the last show on the Ride The Lightning tour in Portland, Oregon at the Starry Night club with our bros in @ArmoredSaint. We had been crisscrossing North America since early January for our first full on U.S and Canadian run ever. Most of the tour we were also joined by W.A.S.P.
Fade to Black was getting spins at radio and there was a feeling in the air that shit was popping and a new and different vibe was happening.
And btw, the next gig we played after this one was our first appearance at the legendary Castle Donington In August, which was and still is hallowed ground for all things hard-rock! Now that was some crazy shit we can circle back to.

I know ‘Tallica already posted about our friends Russell and Michael, who followed us around and saw every single fucking show on the North American run.
I just wanted to add my two cents...
I so identify with you guys.
I used to drive behind Motörhead’s tour bus on Interstate 5, following them up and down California, roll along with DiamondHead all over the UK, go find Iron Maiden wherever they were playing around Scandinavia, hit up Deep Purple in Oregon and Washington, travel to far away to be in the same space as Oasis...and so on and so on.
Running off with a Rock ‘n’ Roll band is the coolest thing in the world!!
Fuck yeah Russell.
Fuck yeah Michael.
37 years ago today, March 14 ’82, the ‘Tallica played our first live show ever at a joint called Radio City in Anaheim, California.
As you can tell from the notes in my diary, it was my first gig ever and I was “very nervous.”(!)
Additionally, you eagle-eyed observers may notice that there’s not a lot of ‘Tallica originals being performed here at the first outing, but almost all NWOBHM covers, most of which ended up being recorded later along the way and showing up on various Garage releases…
Here for your viewing pleasure is a picture of your Danish drummer from later in ’82 still playing my first Camco kit (there are no pictures that exist from the first gig), the OG flyer, the setlist in my handwriting and a page from my diary describing the antics of the evening!
Happy Live Debut Anniversary! Who would’ve thought....🤪

Couldn’t think of better place to end our North American run. Thank you to everyone who joined in the Wednesday night shenanigans!
